What is Rachel Robinson all about? Let’s ask her!
What is your favorite part about being a photographer? “Getting to know fun, new people during one of the most romantic and exciting times in their lives.”
What drew you to photography? “Back in college, I worked at Images for Kids – very posed, backdrop kind of photography. While I loved the job, I didn’t like the fakeness of what I was capturing – I wanted to capture real things. So, when my friends asked me to take their engagement pictures and things like that, I ended up loving it more and more.”
How would you describe your photographic style? “Fun, edgy, with a dash of formal. Simple, but mostly I just want to capture what my client wants from the shoot.”
You live in Kingwood, Texas. Are you willing to photograph events in other towns? States? “Most definitely!”
Do you shoot weddings digitally or with film? While I love to play with film, I shoot all digital.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the wedding? Yes I do! I always bring a spare camera body, batteries, and CF cards.
Do you have a second shooter? Yes! I want to bring her with me to everything I do.
How many images will I receive from our wedding? On average, you will receive between 800 to 1,000 images, but it depends on what kind of wedding you are having. An afternoon wedding may not produce as many images as an all day and all night affair.
Quick: Five things you are loving right now. “Birdcage veils, vintage, babies, Glee, and the fall weather and pumpkins.”
Married with children? “Yes! I have a one-year-old who is fantastic, super-hilarious, crazy cute, and one of my favorite things. I have a super sweet husband who puts up with my shenanigans and loves me anyway.”
